well it's still there but now it's a white dwarf so yeh the pic is emotional but he isnt really gone XD

It's likelly Sirius A was saying goodbye because he knew that even tho Sirius B would still be there, over a few millions of years (wich is not a lot in space terms) he would cool down until he doesnt shine anymore and become a Black Dwarf (a ball of carbon in space basically XD) so he was probably saying goodbye to their "Star Bros" lifestyle

It kinda sounds like growing old with your college friends... They're still there, but things change and people settle down. Not necessarily sad, but still melancholy in its own way.
