Maybe there was a time when she felt it was a curse... especially since it drove people away from her when she was a kitten. But she has since embrace the flames, and it is integral to who she is, so she sees it as a blessing - a way to set herself apart from the rest.

In a way, it kind of sounds like human beings in general; we are all different, some more than others. Some people see their talents and interests as weird to others, but in reality, it's what sets them apart from others. They might curse the fact that they are so different from the mainstream, but they'll eventually come to realise that being different is exactly what they need to be.
