Amy Rose is a hedgehog with surprisingly remarkable strength for a twelve-year-old. She solves most of her problems with a swing of her hammer, and will hold nothing back when she does. She thought she had seen it all, but never would she expect to see the dead rise and overrun the planet. Unlike her friends, she has no real powers besides the summoning of her hammer, so she is largely unaffected by the mysterious virus which seems to take away everyone else's powers.

Amy found herself part of the chaos when she went out on her own to investigate what happened at the City of King after the Chemical Plant Zone explosion. After encountering and smashing a few of the grotesque mutated humans, she wished she had never left her home to begin with. Bad decisions cannot be reversed, however, so she pressed on, hoping to find a way out of the mess she had gotten herself into.

The only power Amy lost to the virus is the ability to summon her hammer from thin air, but this doesn't bother her in the slightest. Her incredible strength allows her to pulverise almost anything with just as little as a single swing from her hammer, and if she isn't using her hammer, she can always punch her way through. She doesn't want to have to resort to punching things, however. She is also quick to recover from injuries and can get back in the fight quickly. Amy has a decent stamina, allowing her to constantly dish out the pain with her hammer and allows her to run for a decent amount of time. She is, however, not very bright, and just like Sonic, her inability to think ahead can cause her to become reckless. She also isn't very agile and her heavy hammer doesn't help things out when she wants to jump and run around or get to places quickly.

Amy has no experience using firearms and will not be able to handle them efficiently. After all, the idea of using guns never entered her mind. Firing and reloading firearms will be a problem for her. Like it or not, however, she is going to have to learn, as total reliance on a point-blank range weapon in this apocalypse is not necessarily a good thing.

Prototype X-117 "Gravity Hammer" - The hammer created by Miles "Tails" Prower as an experimental project. Amy gave Tails ideas for the hammer, and Tails helped bring those ideas to life. The Prototype X-117, also known as the "Gravity Hammer", has an experimental gravity-warping technology that, when activated, simulates a gravitational pull seventeen times stronger than normal gravity. This helps the hammer swing much faster, and if the hammer still swings too slow for Amy's taste, there are two boosters on the back of the head of the hammer to help it swing faster still. There is also a blade on the back of the hammer in just in case the battery that powers the gravity-warping module runs dry. If it does, it can always recharge either by using solar energy or by the more conventional plug-in-to-the-power-socket method.

Sawed-Off Shotgun - A sawed-off shotgun is basically a shotgun with a very short barrel. This makes it easier to carry in tight corridors and makes it very effective at close range. Shortening the barrel of a shotgun results in a wider spread of a shotgun shell's pellets, which makes it unsuitable at longer ranges. As a result, the sawed-off shotgun cannot be used to shoot anything further than a few feet in front of the barrel or it would be otherwise extremely ineffective. However, in exchange for an extremely short range, the sawed-off shotgun is extremely powerful and can kill anyone or anything in its effective range in just one shot.
