With Kingdom Hearts 3 being out now and with me having an idea of what Re: Kingdom Hearts 3’s plot being like, I thought it would be good to draw Maria. A key component of the game is characters being reunited and brought back together after all. Since my plan for Re: KH3 is for Zia to be awakened and released from guarding Kingdom Hearts for such a long time with the x-blade being recompleted and all the components of it being there, it makes sense for Maria to be brought back in some regard. Replicas were a key component to many aspects of the plot and whatnot after all, so Maria is kind of brought “back to life” at the very end through a replica through her heart being put into one. That doesn’t deny the fact that she died, though the replica makes it easier for her to physically exist. She isn’t used to it but she’s glad to be there.
For her outfit, it was mainly inspired by Link’s BotW outfit. The Legend of Zelda has been an influence for her later outfits and her Keyblade (called Song of the Hero; I started digitally drawing it and may post it at some point). I might update Zia’s outfit as well or just redraw her with her current one. I don’t really know yet.
