I needed another Tkodi for The species ref, so I drew up a fellow I’ve been thinking about for a while. Dhoneaskaein is a planet-born t’kodi planetguard, a (bizarrely) casual group of covert-op’s that monitor and protect Tkodi political interests (as few as they are). He leads his small home-ship with a carefully picked crew deep into the territory of other species and keeps an eye on what the other races are up to.

and occasionally… makes adjustments.

Of 1130 years of age (early middle age for a t’kodi) during Axkara's time period, Dhoneaskaein is a figure of note as he was the first to allow living passengers of other races onto his ship (a pair of humans). It was the first peaceful contact the t'kodi had ever had with another species and it finally lead to the T'kodi making treaty with the galactic circle, and an uneasy peace with the other races.

However, as forward thinking and peace-seeking as he may outwardly appear, and as dignified and reserved as he conducts himself, there is a raging fire beating in his chest that it is dangerous to cross. He remembers the motherworld, and her agonizing final days of life, he grew to adulthood during the long years of struggling and finally thriving in space. Behind the calm cultural politeness so natural to his species he has the trained mind of a cold and calculating killer. whether it requires careful words, sabotage, assassination or outright piracy, what Dhoneaskaein wants done, gets done, and he will use any tools in his arsenal to achieve it.

Despite his brutal tactics, Dhoneaskaein commands a great deal of respect in most galactic covert-ops or peacekeeping circles, both as a creature of his word, and as a constant advocate for peaceful co-existence with the other races. Among the T’kodi he is better known, quietly honored as a stalwart guardian of both their planet, and life everywhere.

Dhoneaskaein has met my other t’kodi character Axkara. When the galactic circle peacekeepers quietly suggested to him that a few T’kodi in their ranks would go a long way towards peaceful species integration, Dhoneaskaein recruited a eager and a slightly starstruck young Axkara to be placed on one of the major human space-stations.
