This one received first prize for colors at the same competition as the one before.What you see is a bush fire. And this was a real huge one! Athmosphere was incredible and I was impressed by the power of fire...
but these fires are natural! those bushes grow only with help of fires.
And I took this one on Tanami road in Tanami desert(red center,west-north from Alice Srings). Thousands of miles around are no poeple living...only desert....

There are streaks of different shades of red-orange on that dusty road, and they simply pull you in, towards the smoke, the event of fire in progress...
I can imagine that the body of smoke must have been changing it's shape and positioning constantly, bent by the sudden ghusts of wind. Therefore I love the titlted and centered formation taht you have recorded with your camera.
There are layers of colorful subjects, all coming together to form a complimentary composition. While the most impacting statement of this piece remains the monumental smoke , leaning over the earth... and actually bringing life as you explained

they are the colours of my home....
people ask me do i manip my colours....but they have never been to Oz before....the sky so blue...the earth so red......it is a very intense place for colours.....and Sev is right, Isac has the same colours in his beautiful home....

bushfires are a way of life down here...it is the way the bush re-generates.....even on the fringes of the big cities....(i live in Sydney and we have been evacuated from our home 4-4 times and our house has been water-bombed at the height of the fires).....but wouldn't/couldn't live anywhere else....

I have a bad feeling about the fire-i mean it`s tragic-but the shot forself and the colors are very dramatic-and in our life we see not only happiness and fun,and as you say-it was natural.

you know, parts of me would love to see the picture without the smoke...just a vast blue sky. But the fire did have a cool "impending doom" sort of effect. good job, C!
