i was just studying portraits with my little brother.imagine this is a landscape of war... and this young soldier is carrying a gun... hehe....
in fact my brother was playing around the house with this umbrella. he used it as a gun.... and what impressed me was the american flag on the umbrella. so i thought that i can use it as a story or a kind of a message... i dont know if this is clear on my picture... i was only studying... i took this picture 2 hours ago at near field.

great work, i think it looks fantastic and if you were to change this for a real soldier it would loose 100% of its feel this i see as almost a humouros shot, and the umbrella works so well compared to a gun, its perfect as it is, and dont think otherwise

great story and great composition.. i love the fact that it's a black and white photograph, it seems to give a sense of sadness, great expression on ur brother(?) too.
one thing tho, the left side of the photo seems a little over exposed.

Looking at it just kid of confuses my brain and doesn't really lead me anywhere conceptually, but I think it's really nice looking picture and cool stance with the gunbrella! Nicely shot.

An extremely striking and moving piece
The US flag pattern of his umbrella adds an unbelievably brilliant and genius touch to the image, and the meaning you've pulled from his pose and this small detail makes this such a powerful image.
His young face, full on innocence and a look of distress and worry contrasts the barren landscape and the message you've conveyed.
The black and white manages to retain some of the darkness of the atmosphere, while at the same time the bright contrast prevents the image from becoming too dark and bland.
Simply phenomenal work. You seem to pick up on things around you so easily and with such fluidity.
