Description I was randomly doodling Disney ducks the other day and a track from the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack started playing on my WinAMP...and I started thinking of the movie...the story of starcrossed lovers who spend a summer romance up on the mountains, then they are separated but their love stays alive for decades.

SOUNDS FAMILIAR, duck fans?

So, yeah. That's what came out of all that thinking. I haven't really drawn Disney ducks in a LONG time so I'm not quite sure how Scrooge and Goldie came out.

Google the poster of the movie if you're not familiar with it.

I'm also going to upload another version of the poster in scraps, one with the original colors before I started adding shadows and speckles to make it look like the actual poster.

Yes he is. He's got a small (often cameoish) role in all Don Rosa Klondike stories. (Or were you talking about Barks's "Back to the Klondike"?)

that's amazing work here. They should realy make a movie of those two, so tragic... Scrooge and Goldie are so lovely I just have to love them. And Don Rosa is deffinetly my hero because he created one of the most beautifull love stories ever.

That was an awesome comic epic from the great Don Rosa. "The Prisoner of White Agony Creek" was one of the best love stories I've read as far as comics go, and probably one of the most heartfelt parts of The Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck.

The colors of the background and characters remind me fondly of watercolors. Scrooge and Goldie's faces have nice emotion drawn onto them. This is an overall nice tribute to both a great drama movie and a comic love story

Here's a link to the story I found; there's a few other Disney Ducks comic goodies on the site, too- [link]

This work is brilliant. Thank you so much!

That is just BRILLIANT!

You managed to combine 2 great loves of mine - one is DUKE TALES, one of the greatest loves of my life! There's no T.V. show like it and there probably never will be.

Then you took my more recent love - BBM! What a great film! I was actually listening to the soundtrack of it today - Such beautiful music...

Anyway this drawing is so great! You've done beautiful work here, and it works well with the theme!

I always loved the plot line of Scrooge and Goldie. I wanna see it now... Oh, way are my Duce Tales DVD's aren't here with me now?!

Brilliant work!

Wow, thanks David, it means a lot coming from you!
I'm glad you love DuckTales - I do, too. Although my drawing (and my Disney ducks love in general) comes from the comic books rather than DuckTales - I know they're not very popular outside of Europe, but they're basically what inspired DuckTales in the first place. You should check them out - mainly the works of Carl Barks (the creator of Scrooge back in 1947) and Don Rosa, his "successor" who started writing duck comics in the 80's and developed the relationship between Scrooge and Goldie to the dramatic levels that are shown in my work You can find most of those stories on-line!

I did the sketch with my tablet and then "inked" with the pen tool. I find it very useful for Disney pictures.

Very clever! I instantly recognized the pose from the original Brokeback poster (which reminds me to actually see the film sometimes).

I wouldn't worry about not drawing the ducks good enough, because they really both seem spot on. Especially Scrooge. And there's so much emotion in their eyes. Congrats on a piece well done!
