I'm not sure why they haven't brought back the intelligent Deathclaws. Goris survived, and there was another one you could save that was a prisoner at the old Navarro military base. Their intelligence would be passed on to future generations though their genetics. That would be fantastic to have a Deathclaw follower again. I always liked the feature as well that allowed you to to hold up to three other followers in the car, including Goris! I usually had Goris, the Robodog and the Ghoul doctor with me. We need the return of a vehicle too!

It's been a few years since I've played Fallout and Fallout 2 but every time I do I always have those same followers in the second Fallout game. It seems they've brought everyone else back, I believe Marcus was in New Vegas, Harold was in Fallout 1, 2, and 3, ect. but no more smart talking Deathclaws which in my opinion were the coolest of all. With the graphics now it would look even better plus it would be fantastic to hear them talk. To have one as a follower in the newer games would be phenomenal! Alas, no such luck yet. I'm only part way through Fallout 4 but I've been told by other Fallout fanatics who've long since beat the game that there are no smart talking Deathclaws in this game either. I guess there is always hope for the next game! Hope for a vehicle you can buy, fix, and keep running too just like in Fallout 2. By the way, thank you for the Llama badge! I appreciate that!

I felt really bad for the smart Deathclaws and still do. Every time I played Fallout 2 over the years I tried everything to save them and it just didn't work. I even stayed at Vault 13 and sped time up until Frank Horrigan showed up but it didn't help. I couldn't do anything until the carnage was over. I even tried to revive one but the game told me that the Deathclaw was dead and to get over it, or something like that. So I guess I either have to wait for an add on for the current Fallout game or wait for the next one to see if they bring back the smart Deathclaws and a vehicle as well. Long live pack Gruthar!

Oh man, I wish I thought of trying to fight off Frank Horrigan to protect the Deathclaws! I was always so worried about hitting that date that I tried to just speed things up so they wouldn't have to go through that...which didn't help at all. I can't believe the game knew people would try to revive them and put in a dialog/caption for that. xD While the Deathclaws in Fallout 4 don't seem Fallout 2 levels of intelligent, the quest where you help them get an egg back is pretty cool. I feel like there probably is some awesome mods out there somewhere just based on that quest...or at least I imagine there would be lol.

Yea, I tried everything to save them and it just didn't allow me to do so. The comments the game gave me about trying to revive the Deathclaw caught me off guard too. I haven't yet had to do the Deathclaw egg mission yet in Fallout 4. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one. Are the Deathclaws thankful that you give them their egg back? I'm sure there are some mods that have been created that allow you to travel with a smart Deathclaw. Hopefully we aren't the only fans of them!!

Thank you very much for the tip! I believe it's marked on my current pip boy map but I haven't made my way over to it yet. I'll be sure to make a bee line there after my current mission is complete. Thank you again and I fully agree, we can't be the only fans of the smart Deathclaws, there have to be more somewhere out there!

There actually *is* a good ending for them, but it is bugged and can only be restored with a game mod; in that ending, the Enclave does not storm Vault 13 and the Deathclaws keep living there in peace until they have bred so much that they need to leave and spread throughout the Wasteland.
Its canonicity is debated though; some say that, since this ending can't be accessed in the vanilla game, only the bad ending is canon, while others say that both are equally probable as long as the final fate of Gruthar and his pack isn't confirmed in a future game.

Oh whoa. I never knew there was a good ending planned for them, but that good ending sounds very nice. Even though the ending was never really published, the good ending does give a sense of hope to them appearing again some day.

Let's be honest here, a friendly, talking Deathclaw companion sounds way too awesome not to reappear in another game !
Especially with how badass they look in Fallout 4...

Yeah, I really like the Fallout 4 design of the death claw. It would be great to see them being intellectual.

True. We've already seen a fair share of intellectual super-mutants, Deathclaws need more love !

Agreed. Besides, it would be loads of fun to be able to customize your own car.
That would be a welcomed and quite logical addition...
- "Hey, Survivor dude ! We need a new settlement. Can you build one from the ground up with this pile of junk and a roll of adhesive ?"
- "Sure, no problem ! If you've got a spare pack of bubblegums and a pair of bobby pins, I should even be able to craft some turrets to defend it !"
- "Nice... We'd also need a way to travel quickly between different settlements. Could you fix this old car over there ?"
- "Whoa man, do I look like a miracle worker ?"
