Before Avril had become the April Fool, being the Grim Reaper's first born son, he was initially chosen to succeed his father. However, instead of reaping souls, and striking fear in the hearts of men, all Avril could do was crack jokes, slip up, and make a complete Fool of himself. Despite Macaria's, his younger sister's, attempts at pacifying his father, the retired Grim Reaper was confident that his son was not destined to uphold the family name.

Little did he know, Avril was destined for greater things - specifically, to make a name of his own.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS AU/OCs

As an added precaution against Pitch's return, the Guardians have enlisted the help of humans who have the innocence of a child, and the maturity to endure all forms of skepticism. Five teenagers are chosen to occupy one of five roles - the Teacher, the Inventor, the Caregiver, the Warrior and the Storyteller - and are apprenticed by the Guardians to become Protectors of Childhood.
