I learned the most amazing ancient summer ritual. A lovely model friend of mine told me stories passed down from her great grandmother:

The belief is that a special fern blooms at night, and women wander the forest searching for it. Whoever finds it will relieve the gift of seeing the future. It's important to wear white and douse yourself with water (actually it's better luck to be doused by surprise, but I did what I could!).

I came away with some mosquito bites, but it was a lot of fun!
