You wandered lonly as a cloud...? Looks like a very peaceful place for the dead and the living alike.

It is an oasis of peace, and a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Incidentally, among the graves is that of John Sell Cotman, co-founder of the Norwich School of Painters. Well-known for his watercolours, he drew inspiration from several visits to Normandy.

Thanks for your comments, always appreciated.

Thanks for the information about Mr Cotman. As chance would have it, Normandy is familiar to me as I always lived in Rouen (aside from a stay in London a quarter of a century ago). My city happens to be twinned with Norwich, where I see Mr Cotman was born, and a little search on his artwork leaves me totally impressed by his talent.

Always a pleasure to comment your works.

Yes, not my choice as far as I can remember but it's a cool birth place. Have you been there?

AΒ cooler birth place than South Ockendon in Essex, that's for sure! No, I've never been to Rouen, but I'd like to go one day...
