Description This is Makion Sachiko, Saki Sachiko's older brother. This isn't in the Character Contest for #EverScript , as it is just a little bit about the man that has helped Saki in so many ways and been there for her through her trying times throughout her life.

Name: Makion Sachiko - Male - Human - 6 foot even - 22

Birthday: 4th of August

"To push someone away before you give them a chance... that, I cannot do." -Makion

Makion - In Short:

He was born normal, grew up normal, and he thinks his life is pretty bland with all the "normal-ness" that happens. He made a friend named Daijiro in kindergarten. Daijiro is his life-long friend. He learned to play the classical "spanish" guitar, before he played electric. His friend played the drums. When Saki was old enough to appreciate music (as soon as she reached junior high years), she pestered Makion into teaching her how to play the electric guitar (though, he honestly enjoyed seeing her try to convince him to teach her).

He grew up being her rock against all her troubles. He used to check on her during recess (in her elementary years) to make sure that she was fine. One day, when he checked on her, he saw her in the gravel of the playground, covering her eyes in pain from the sunlight, and a group of kids that were huddled around her, mocking her, while a boy held her protection just out of her reach. He punched the kid in the face and gave her back her glasses.

She was ridiculed by her peers at times because she always had to keep her eyes in the dark. Some days, the taunts would get so bad, she would cry as he held her in his arms and comforted her. That was before she got into the wrong group of kids (which he told her from time-to-time that he didn't like her hanging out with those kids). His nicknames for her accumulated over the years; "...my ayumi-oki." (ocean centered sweet-fish, because of her love to play in water), "kimi" (she who is without equal), and what he calls her most of the time "Shinju" (pearl), which was used in this sort of dialog :

"But you see, you're my Shinju. Everyone tries to judge perfect Shinju's, so that they themselves don't see its real beauty, by saying it isn't formed right, or even a small blemish on the surface. But you're my perfect Shinju, Saki." -Makion, when Saki came home one day crying (elementary school).

Makion can also be classified as a "hopeless romantic". Wanting to take things slow and show through small acts to a girl that he likes them enough to respect their personal space (instead of always full on "make-outs" like so many kids his age have done). However, he's never dated a girl in his life.

If you would like to know more about him, there is more after this, otherwise, you really don't have to read it unless you want to know at least his traits. It just goes into details about how he grew up, what he likes, dislikes, his views in life, etc.

More:

Makion's Traits:

He has dark brown / black hair and a rather firm jaw that he inheritated from his father, yet it's still fair and works well with him, like his mother's face. He has regular light brown eyes, that Saki used to tease him about when she was younger, that his eyes were like chocolate, ready to be eaten in his sleep. He's tall and wirey, but don't fool him for a whimp, as he can swirl someone around in the air and punch them out (that is, for normal and regular humans).

"Everyone deserves respect until they give you a reason not to do so anymore." -Makion

Born and raised by a lawyer father, Makion has a firm and straight posture. When he talks, he perfers to look them dead in the eyes, same if someone else is talking to him. He takes respect seriously, and, being raised by a nurse mother, is rather loyal and kind to any girl he meets, perfering to open the door for them, holding anything they would deem too heavy, compliment on their looks, or treating them to a homemade chocolate cupcake he would make for them if they asked (or, if he liked them a bit, he'd just give it to them as a surprise girft). Only once in his life did he kiss a girl, though it was at a junior high dance and instead of a full on make-out like most kids his age were doing, he kneeled down on a knee and gave her a light kiss on the back of her hand.

Makion is not one to intentionally toy with any person's emotions, especially girls (since he has two little sisters now). So, to keep from getting into any "feeling-drama" (you know, like "omg he's going out with (blank) after he cheated on (blank) with (blank)" and all that back stabbing relationship gossip) throughout his life, he always remained single. He took those single times to play with his classical "spanish" guitar and realize that he really didn't want to date anybody, he wanted to wait for the right girl that would accept his advances and minor public gestures of fondness (i.e. kneeling down on a knee and kissing the hand).

His humor is a little dry, meaning; he can't make up a good joke to save his life. But he loves to hear others joke and participate in other fun times. In a relaxing time, he likes to hang around friends, hearing their laughs and voices. If/when he makes a bad joke, he admits that it was bad and "corny enough to end world hunger."

He's fairly easy-going and can take a joke, but can be drop-dead-serious if he feels the time calls for it. He hates it when someone pushes another away just because they realized something different about them that they didn't realize before. His example of trying to be fair to all, would be when his sister partially transformed. He was shocked that he had never seen that in Saki before, but was absolutely sick to his stomach when he saw that their parents refused to call their own daughter theirs anymore. So to make up for it, he reminded himself that, even though she was more different than he thought (with just sensitive eyes), she was still his little sister. He supports her goals and ambitions, as much as he would any other friend, and tries to help out to achieve the goal if they want it.

When approaching something new (friend, accusation, etc.), he likes to look at it in neutral before he makes up his mind about it.

He is a total "oh-a-damsel-is-in-distress-I-have-to-help-her-now" type of guy. This might not be the best trait to have, but he had those mannerisms hammered into his being since birth by his mother.

Makion's Bio:

Makion was born normal. The first born son to parents of a lawyer father and a hospital-nurse mother. He grew up fine, made good grades pretty much all his life (the only subject he has a little hard time with is history) and had decent friends.

At a young age, back in his kindergarten years, he made his first friend, Daijiro (Saki was also born when he reached his kindergarten year, making his mother quit her job and become a stay at home mother). Makion was standing up for a small girl in his class when another boy took her chocolate milk carton and her cupcake her mother had made her. The two boys got into a small fight, and Daijiro stepped in, pulling the other boy off of Makion and trying to sort out their dispute. It ended with the other boy walking off, still with the little girl's milk and cupcake. To make up for her lost snack, Makion gave her his chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate drink. Daijiro gave her his crackers. After that day, they were the best of friends.

Growing into his elementary school years, Makion got intensely interested in music. Especially anything with six strings. In fourth grade, Makion's father bought him a classical guitar for his birthday. Within seven months, Makion could play his oversized instrument with ease, becoming a teenage girl heart-throb almost immediately. Also at this time, he had to continually stop by the earlier grade classrooms to keep an eye out for Saki, as she was getting into some pretty interesting friend groups at that age, and was teased for her use of having to wear sunglasses all the time (in one incident, at her playground, she was pushed off the swing-set and had her sunglasses taken away as the kids about her played "keep-away". Makion had checked on her that day, and saw she was in the gravel of the playground, covering her eyes in pain as the kids laughed and dangled her protection from the sun just out of her reach. He punched the boy in the face that had started the experience, and gave Saki her glasses back).

Throughout Saki's childhood years, she would come home with a bruise or with just tears in her eyes about what a fellow classmate said about her. Makion quickly became her rock, holding her as she cried herself to sleep most nights at that time in her life. Also, at that time, Makion was growing freyed nerves because his sister was in a constant state of helplessness, and he couldn't do anything about it unless he was glued to her side forever.

When he reached his junior high years, he was known to play music for any girl that wanted to hear it on his classical "spanish" guitar (though he refused to date any of them, whether or not he liked them as well). His long-term friend, Daijiro, grew into a liking of music as well at this time, and started to play on his own drums. Seeing the opportunity to start a small school band of their own, Makion bought an electric guitar to play with his classical "spanish" guitar. Together, they played with selected members of the school band to play with for school dances and such.

At one school dance that he didn't need to be up on stage to play at, since the school rented a DJ, he danced with a girl he saw standing on the sidelines, tapping her feet to the music. After he danced with her for three songs (two fast, the last was a slow), he kneeled down on his knee and gave a small kiss on the back of her hand. He didn't like the idea of full make-out sessions that most kids his age did, and he thought that the girls felt the same way. The girl instead slapped him and stormed off, leaving Makion kneeling on the floor on a single knee. It was from that point, he officially decided he would never date anyone unless they would accept a kiss on their hand. Even in public.

When Makion reached his early High School years, his little sister Saki pestered him into teaching her how to play the guitar (around this time, his other little sister Lewsh was born, and Saki was quickly growing jealous. He was not aware of it). As a bonus, Daijiro taught her to also play the drums. She picked it up within a matter of four months total, becoming a well-known school guitarist (and a fill-in drummer) as Makion was in his junior high years. Of course, since she was friends with the wrong crowd, she never really played her electric guitar in public, unless it was in the park with her brother, who, in turn, would snag random girls on the sidewalk and dance with them to Saki's music.

After he graduated High School, with near perfect grades (again, the toughest subject for him was always history), he entered the University to pursue a profession in law (he was thinking about becoming a doctor, though he blushed at the thought of having to check women's bodies. However, he already knows some tips and tricks about medicine when his mother would teach him something every now and then, so he can still help splint broken bones or sprains, stitch a wound, bandage, etc.), taking side classes and minoring in music. He and Daijiro rented an appartment, away from the campus grounds so that they could practice their music randomly on the streets for walkers enjoyment in the local park, and not have to worry about random pranks being pulled on them when they went home late or left early for / from classes. He got a part-time job as a bus-boy in a dive, saving up his money for the University and payments in rent. He also visits his family on the weekends.

He heard that his sister was grounded for getting into a school fight, though, he refused to believe that she did it to bully the boy by what he heard from his father over the phone. When he left to go home that weekened, he asked Saki for her side of the story. She told him that the boy was trying to "get it going" with a friend of hers that kept telling her pursuer to stop. Makion then smiled and said she did the right thing, no matter what their dad said. That next morning, the news showed that there was a down-town shooting that ended up killing nine of fourteen high school girls. Makion heard from Saki that she had snuck out with her friends through her bedroom window, and she was in that story. For the next three months, Saki had trouble sleeping as she had nightmares about the incident (as well as that Clouded Leopard that kept stalking her). So for those three months, he made the long trip from the University to the house every night, comforting Saki in his arms as she fell into fit-full sleeps and cried herself out (she repeatedly said it was all her fault). Some nights, she would request that he play a sweet song for her on his classical "spanish" guitar (at that time, he secretely named the guitar "Shinju", his pet name for her throughout their younger years together) while she had her nightmares and he stayed up, playing the guitar for her and her alone.

One weekend, while visiting his family, he woke up in the middle of the night to hear his littlest sister, Lewsh, screaming. Flicking on lights and running down the hall to her room with a metal baseball bat in hand, he saw her blood staining her sheets. Not a second after, the dad and mother ran into the room, seeing the same as their son. Makion pin-pointed the blood, seeing that it was coming from an animal bite on her left arm. He dropped the bat and ran to Saki's room, ready to wake her and warn her of some animal that was in their house. When he reached her room, her sleeping body refused to wake up; he even believed that, for a moment, she was dead before she let out a snore and grumbled in her dreams of Clouded Leopards. He stayed by her bed-side for a good half hour before turning back to Lewsh's room to help bandage her arm. He and his mother decided to take her to a doctor in the morning.

Come morning, after watching a dispute between his father and Makion's sister, Saki, he saw her partially transform after their dad slapped her. Startled, he immediately drew the connection that she bit her own sister's arm, though, even in his panicked mind, he refused to believe that she did it knowing it was the real sister. He watched as their father tried to push her out of the house, and Makion couldn't take it. He stood up and argued against his father that she was just as part of the family as he-himself was. The father then pushed them both out of the house, though Makion watched the scene unfold when Saki gashed the right side of their father's face, leaving four open wounds that stretched from his temple to his jawline.

Seeing as they were both kicked out of the house, he offered for Saki to stay with he and Daijiro, though he told her that she would still need to find some way to finish school. He refused to admit that he needed help with rent, but Saki ignored him and managed to find two part-time jobs.

He still plays his classical "spanish" guitar on the fountain in the local park. Whenever someone throws a dollar in his guitar case, he gives the money back, saying that them giving attention to his practice was payment enough. Sometimes, when other street musicians come out and play, he'll grab girls he see's and make them smile as he dances with them, twirling them around in his arms.

That's all about Makion! The request for some more background information about him was by *StrengthAndHarmony . And yes, the picture is of Makion and his secretly named guitar, Shinju.

Sorry that he looks pretty cruddy. I have no excuses right now other than I just really didn't want to spend too much time on him. After all, he isn't my contest entry.

I think a Spanish guitar is called a 'cuatro', for the four strings it has, but for all I know there may be more than one kind of Spanish guitar

I really like him! He's a great character, and obviously cares a lot about Saki and all that about him being a romantic but still respecting himself enough to set up boundaries is so swoon-worthy! I could kinda see him with Chika May I have him?

But of course! I would be honoured if you used Makion!

Yeah, I don't know too much about guitars. All I know is that my dad used to play one, and it has a rounded back, so it's like a "spanish" guitar (because of the smooth hollow sound). I looked up guitars and the classical guitar is mainly used to play spanish love-songs so the classical guitar is nicknamed "The Classical Spanish Guitar".

Again, I really know nothing about guitars! I used Wiki, which is a big slap on the hand.

Pft, even if I don't win, you can still use Makion if he would be Chika's love-interest.
