Description The legend is born again.
Bursting through steam with her loyal men.
And round the Lancashire hills will ricochet the noise.

As I quite rightly described in my piece The Return Of A Legend , which is regularly performed to the old folks I often entertain alongside my fellow writers, the legend has returned, and with one of the best men in the business behind her all the way she's sure to be with us for some time.

Her owner Ian Riley was driving for the day, and with ~matt-durkan-railways tagging along, we were treated to a War Department whistle acknowledgement at Ramsbottom, and here at Stubbins crossing we were given a full release of the drain cocks and a full opening of the regulator. The perks of having an insider on the case were certainly evident that day...

LMS Black Five 5MT 4.6.0 number 44871 approaches Ramsbottom with a southbound train from Rawtenstall.

She will end the slumber of that magical number.
Four, four, eight, seven, one.

This is a cracking photo!

I don't, as a rule, collect train pictures (though I ride on steam at every opportunity!) but this one has to be favourited for its sheer elegance and drama.
Brilliantly captured, in my opinion!

Best regards

Just A Shame About The Chap With The Camera.
