Hope everyone likes it cause I tried my best making sure the composition was right for what Kamina is and that's his high optimistic spirit kicking it to the curb, "Who the hell do you think I am", attitude. I like how the glasses came out since they have a red and orange tint just like in the anime. I couldn't figure out how to put the Dai Gurren Lagann logo on his back since I made the flow of the cape so complicated X_X. But as always take it easy and thanks for viewing. Awesome. My only criticism is that the cape has too many waves in it. It doesn't need that many wrinkles. You should have just left it plain and put in a big bright Dai Gurren Dan logo on the back.
But on the plus side, the glasses are FTW.

This makes me so envious of your digital painting skills. D: Everything is just so crisp and the details in the hair and all those folds are amazing. The perspective and foreshortening on their designated arms really add a dynamic touch to that pose, too. The colours used for the shadows are fantastic picks as well--that deep indigo was the right way to go.

Envious of digital painting skills? PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT XP. Yeah right if anything it's just taking time on looking at tutorials and trying them out . Then BAM!!!! EXPERIMENTATION! Just like your doing with the latest art piece in which by the way again I must say looks devine 
But yeah All I did was just like I showed you in th eprogress. First sketch out and don't care how rough it is just sketch as much ideas until you feel you want to work on one. Do a line art putting in detail as for example the hands which actually the one pointing up is from just me taking a picture of my hand and slapping it so that it works with how the angle is. Again mask..OMG MASK! That is pretty much my single most essential thing to use from now on when coloring. And yeah indigo heh heh heh I don't know why but since I wanted the moon to be their I couldn't use just blue. Plus while I was doing this I was amused since I knew you'd be all "THE PURPLE YES OM NOM NOM NOM" XD.

Haha, well thanks. The latest piece I did was just something that I made not only using what skills I knew, but also taking my time and literally painting from life (the background). I'm having a hard time finding any tutorials that interest me, though--I want to learn colouring techniques similar to that of Jo Chen and `Artgerm or Studio Udon. D: Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
References; always a friend to the artist. That explains why the hands and perspectives turned out as well as they did. The way you did the mask is just freakin' amazing and I have a feeling you'll be playing around with the method used in other/similar projects (it would be a cool effect for Gatchaman fanart

You improve a lot with every single thing you paint, that's insane.
I'm really fangirling right now, so I don't know what to say I like first...I loooove the folds in his cloak, that must have taken forever (it looks so natural too, so much artists tend to make folds look akward).
And the composition in this is AWESOME. Like, the curves of his cloak just draws your eyes all around the image, then the angles in his hair and glasses just stops your eyes at his face, and then his arm just leads your eyes up to the moon in the corner....
And I loooooove how smooth the coloring is! I bet it looks gorgeous in print!

Man thank you Claudine. Well if anything I started on the cloak first and was easy actually since I've been figuring out what would be best and how to approach it on another thing I was doing but it was mostly for fun..everything else was a hassle putting on different layers, planning whats on top of each other, computer's fan making it sound like it's gonna explode since it can't handle so much layers D:!!!. haha but yeah nice that your fangirling about it.
That's the most important thing I wanted to have in this picture by making the composition be as he's not only standing face front but striking a pose that reflects him in the show. Yeah I knew I had to do something with the cloak since it's so long and I didn't want to shrink to where you see his whole body since it would take out the effect that he gives all "in your face" XD kind of way haha. Also it's sad that i didn't intentionally make it go around so I'm not smart at all just lucky accidental TAT. I could never figure out how that works since my eyes go all crazy X_X. But at least you know and say good things so I guess I kinda know >_>;;;.
THe coloring I had to go quick with it since I knew I took so long with coloring it would have been done months after AWA and I would be too late DX. But yeah it's smooth cause I finally got the handle with using airbrush and MASKING! Man I'm such an idiot, for years on PS and last month I just found out how convenient it is to mask things and not erase gah....OH man I do say it does look nice in print.

First did base which is on normal then played around making copies of th esame layer and switching to different stuff like soft light or color dodge. Experimenting is th ebest way to learn. If it wasn't for that I think i couldn't have gotten the orange tint effect at all.

Whoa the hair is ultra badass. It's got a 3d feel to it like the mouth, cape and waist wrap.
This has good motion in in, the pose is interesting as well.
