Thanks Carolyn

thanks for the fav too!

don't know if you would like to consider me as a contributor. I got more than a hundred oil paintings and submission is that much easier. No problem, if you can't, for whatever reason.

You're very welcome. Right now it is opened at a one a day per folder basis (except for feature) so in effect everyone is somewhat a contributor.

Was the Phantom of the Opera-like face intentional? It would make perfect sense that.. although it is a guilty pleasure for me, the character is a definite patriarch. You really capture the weary expression women have when stomped on under this system. Great job.

Ooh, this is much darker than much of your more recent artwork. I feel like I'm entering the Twilight Zone! I still like how you accomplish the transparency of the figures

I love the shapes and patterns, the way you made some of the figures transparent. The fact that everyone is wearing black except the woman in the middle, so it draws your eye there immediately. The man standing, who I'm asumming is the patriarch, has a creepy deformed face with what looks like empty eye sockets--makes me assume the man has no soul. The background figures look sad or hopeless. The dog seems either relaxed at his master's feet--or submissive. Intriguing, provocative piece.

does the woman appear anatomically correct? Last minute I decided to make her stoop forward, and had to change rest of her body accordingly, esp the boob.

Yes, I think it does. If it's slightly off it's not noticable, at least not to me. The figure standing to her right (my left) with the gold belt buckle who I'm assuming is female--she should have a little leg and a foot showing on the other side of the sitting female's leg. I don't know if that makes sense. Unless she is meant to be partially transparent.

thanks Juliette for a fine reading of the piece.
I wanted to show some restlessness, so the woman is in coloured clothing and 'full'.

transparency in it is incredibly well done... adds to your blurry style of awesomeness...
