Such a great idea. Definitely an inspirational piece for a new ceramics artist like myself. I'm taking my first class and we are scheduled to do tea pots in a couple of weeks. This is getting my brain working.

Very creative! My wife makes and collects tea pots, but this is the first I've seen with this theme. The flower cup reminds me of the prickly pear flowers we often see them feeding on here in Arizona

Indeed. The mental transition from charming hummingbird to boar's head shows your great artistic versatility!

very cute. I really like the way you dealt with the spout - does it pour well?

Since it wasn't intended to be used (the inside isn't glazed all the way), I hadn't tried till you asked... actually, it does a pretty good job after the initial tipping (don't go slow at that point- it dribbles off to the side ) once it gets wet, it does fine!

if I made it again, I would make the groove in the beak deeper

you resisted getting to play with a pretty birdie for that long? It's a really cool spout mechanism, and it looks very natural the way you have it done

*lol* That is so cute!!! I love the concept. ^_^ And if you add a little honey to your tea, then even the contents match.
