Description
The familiar giggle made you turn your attention to your right, where you could see Bonnet pop up and slowly scuttle by you.
She may be fast, but you were even faster as you just chuckled and tapped her nose–which really functioned like a large button–that caused her to fall over while covering it.
“Awh maaaan!” You could hear her pout, though she quickly disappeared from view. Not that you needed to keep your attention on her for too long, as Lolbit’s face was starting to appear on the monitors.
With a huff you went over to the keyboard and quickly typed L-O-L to stop the fox from materializing. And not too long after that you heard Ballora’s music coming from the right hallway, so you pushed yourself towards the respective door to slam it shut.
Then you slumped back in your chair after hearing the music fade, sighing tiredly. “Whew..can I catch a break yet?” You checked the time, and thankfully it was already 6AM.
As you got up and packed your things, however, you paused upon hearing the sound of a squeak. Glancing at the floor, you saw Bonnet and immediately froze in place, afraid of what she’d do.
“It’s okay! I won’t hurt you!” She put her paws up, an innocent smile forming on her muzzle. “You survived the night!”
“..oh! Um..” You smiled nervously, adjusting your security cap. “Thanks, I guess. I need to head back to the elevators now. So..goodbye, I guess.”
But you barely took two steps away from the pink rabbit puppet before you felt something latch onto your ankle.
“Take me with you!”
Bewildered, you turned and looked down to see her hugging your leg. And she gazed up at you; her green eyes seemed to glow brighter. “Please..i-it’s so dark and lonely here. I promise I’ll stay outta trouble!”
“Trouble?” You huffed slightly. “You caused me plenty of that for six hours straight.”
“I-I’ll be quiet! Heck, I’m easy to sneak out. Easier than those Minireenas-”
“You know I can’t do that…even if I wanted to.“
“But..But-”
“I’m sorry, Bonnet. But no means no. Now let go, please.”
Bonnet didn’t budge, though, and so you sighed, kneeling down to gently pry her off you. But then you noticed oil leaking from both of her eyesockets, causing you to stop and stare at her in shock. “Wha..-?”
“P-Please don’t go..” She stammered ever-so softly, her voice glitching a little. “I just..I-I just want a friend. Nobody here talks to me!” She began raising it. “Not Freddy. Not Foxy. Not Ballora. Nobody! I’m all alone and I HATE IT HERE!!”
Her shout startled you, though she realized it, too. “O-Oh…I’m sorry..I’m sorry..” Letting go of your leg, she shuffled back, pushing herself upright. “You’re right. I’m just trouble. F-Forget what I said..goodbye for now.”
As her ears flopped over, she sniffled and wiped her eyes. Then she turned and left the office without sparing you another glance. You resisted the urge to chase after her, and simply walked out the other doorway.
You felt bad for rejecting her…but due to “recent events”–as you were told–security was particularly tight now.
And you didn’t even wanna think of what Mr. Afton would say if he ever found out one of his animatronics escaped with you.
