I was introduced to Ruby Quest and jumped into it blind today having no idea about the premise other than that it was a story written out and drawn crudely in MS Paint one drawing and one sentence or two at a time on a message board thread with anyone allowed to post suggestions on what the main character should do next.
Well, I just read it all, via this convenient version that collects all the suggestions that Weaver went with/already was planning on doing anyway with the story, and some rejected suggestions, in a convenient one-page-at-a-time comic that takes several hours to read, especially if you backtrack and takes notes and make diagrams of what is going on in the story.
It is very fascinating. I have never read a webcomic anything like this before! It is amazing how well it can express emotion with very plain non-prosey descriptions of what is happening and very crude pixelated MS Paint drawings that suddenly become really brilliant because of how minimalistic they are!
