Description This picture startled me when I pulled it out of the box today An E-L Alco switcher in the old Erie paint retouched with E-L logos... the 1950's automobiles lined up behind it... the Maine Central box car and the old red crummy following along... the tell-tail dangling over the box to warn brakemen of the low bridge I'm standing on... the whole thing surrounded by freight forwarding warehouses.

All gone now.

Looks like something you'd see straight out of a transition-era model railroad scene. Wow.

Oh my Gosh, Everythings Gone? That happened to a Huge Steel mill somewhere in the East that I read about in a Trains Magazine; It was full of Tracks and Towering Steel Structures, and about Ten Years later, It was a Dry, Grassy Field, with no Trace of the Railway or Industry...

That's great. Fantastic shot. Great bit of classic railroading and a nice slice of Americana as well.
