Description Pulling hard on the hill out of the east end of the BNSF's Eola yard is a trio of J units dragging a loaded coal train south and east to Indiana. These units came in light about an hour ago to pick up this train.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joe or Larry or James T post this same train later tonight.

Go Elgin, Joliet and Eastern! I love the orange scheme. I hope CN keeps them that way.

Mmmm, I know where that is, too. I once had the experience of being beneath the drawbridge north of Joliet when one of these trains rumbled overhead...then stopped...then pulled ahead, and the slack running out on a mile-long train is a most interesting sound...

What I find interesting is how little slack runout there is these days on the UP and the BNSF when they have DPUs on the tail and an artist at the throttle.

Yeah, that's what I see mostly, since I've transferred to NIU.

It will probably come to Hammond around Midnight after it sits in Griffith for a crew change. The State line has been running at Midnight for weeks now.
