*Fullview for great justice! Seriously! Download it, click twice, don't care, just look at fullview!*I just finished this piece for of his gals, Amy (blonde) and Gina (redhead) having a little beach volleyball fun. We had a blast planning this piece out, and I couldn't be more happy with the result.
I know that my target audience will be more focused on the BIG details, but it's the little ones that make me happy. Amy's bikini was an experiment in texture gone very right . . . I love Gina's freckles . . . and it was fun to do some curly hair!
Amy & Gina belong to and obviously the art is mine, so no yoinking!

Really nice job on the freckles. That net is so tiny, haha. Curly hair, collarbones, and some of the textures came out nice as well. Almost feel like the sand should have as much texturing as the black bikini.

I tried it with the sand, and I think making it look just perfect was a little beyond me at this point. It came out looking a little odd and flat, but if I do another piece with sand I'll see if I can't get it right on the next go round.

Same here. Gotta figure out how to draw them attractively in pencil. The water came out nice though. The surf in particular. I'd suggest darkening the sand near the edge of the water a bit, as the wetness changes it's shade. It's a small detail, but if your goal is detail, then it could be a nice touch. I don't draw backgrounds myself. Lazy.
Debating when I should plug you on my DA page. Do you think you have enough art up yet? Haha. Maybe I should wait a bit longer?

Indeed. And thank you again. I did think of that - of course after I'd been looking at it for a while . . . Sometimes I think I ought to let things sit a few days before calling it final, but then I also know that I'd probably never post anything. Can't blame you for not doing backgrounds - it's the most painstaking part of the whole thing for me.
Give it a little while longer. I have another two big pieces coming after this that should be pretty impressive and be quite eyecatching.

There's a 3D quality to the perspective on this piece that makes me want to put on my 3D stereo glasses and enjoy those girls bulging out of the paper/screen. Good work!

How about this? They're 2D characters who are left completely up to the artist's discretion (and since they're 2D they're not actually standing up). Just like animals walking around on their hind legs or anime characters still being able to see with horribly deformed eyes - that's the fun of art. Things don't have to be realistically feasible.
If that's not good enough, then . . . Titanium plated spines.

Seriously, though, great job. Great fine detail, excellent on the shading, the size of their chests are awesome, and more importantly, convey weight, and don't just look bolted on. The redhead's look like they're heavy, the blonde's look bouncy, great all around job on those. You've definitely got yourself some backpatting in store for that texture on the bikini top. Good way of illustrating that it's pulled taut. Can also see a marked improvement between this piece and the last.

Well, yeah, totally. I could use a good swim, bit of a tan. You've already shown me where I can find some shade, too.
Definitely. It's damn awkward at first, especially with being used to creating a line on paper with a pencil, and now it's using a "pen" to make lines on the screen, but once you get used to it, it's SO worth it.

Totally worth it. I used to, before I took a long vacation from art, color with a mouse (the horror). Now that I'm getting familiar with this, I can't even imagine going back.
