well if you means "human" by ordinary you are right because they were human and so they are like everybody, like you and me, we do mistakes and we always have something to learn. we you have to do our best to be like Him the more we can and we need his help for that. Nobody's perfect. God love everybody, he just doesn't always like what we do. Like David, God loved him so much, but David did mistakes too and God still loved him after and what we have to remember is that David repented from his sins.
