Description
The S.E.5 was a fighter aircraft built by the Royal Aircraft Factory during WW1. The vast majority of the production was the S.E.5a version with the 200 hp engine.
It was designed to use a conventional V8 engine instead of the more common rotary engines. It became a stable and successful fighter, with demand always exceeding supply.
The S.E.5a was armed with 1 x 7,7 mm Vickers machine gun and 1 x 7,7 mm Lewis machine gun.
This example is an S.E.5a of 85 Squadron Royal Air Force 1918.
