KILL IT WITH FIRE!
At least that's what I would say back in the days when a fireflower was the only thing that could help you survive against these hordes of spiked hellspawns! Well, you could also kill the Lakitu who threw them, but these bastards were always flying to high and fast for me to reach! Like most enemies from Super Mario Bros. Spinys and Lakitus aren't as dangerous as they used to be, but I was there when they were!
I do not own Lakitu and it's hellspawns Spiny.

Very good. And the people in Japan call spinies, "Togezo". "Togetoge" means pointy, but I don't know what "zo" means.

Within the first few Super Mario Bros. games, Lakitu/Spiny, Hammer Bros., and Bowser(King Koopa) were the hardest ones to defeat. Oh, forgot to mention Chain Chomp.

You mean the Redeads? Those weren't real humans, the ones that lived in Castle Town moved to Kakariko.
But now that I think about it, Ganondorf did kill one of the sages in Twilight Princess.

I don't mean the ReDeads. I mean that Ganondorf murdered the king, destroyed the castle and all its soldiers. In the 3DS version, there are horse skeletons and the armor and shields of the Hyrule soldiers. In Twilight Princess, you're correct. He also killed Midna, but she was revived by the Light Spirits.

I never played the 3DS version, but these are some pretty heavy indications. Of course, it could also be that Ganondorf just told his minions to kill everyone, and consequently never lifted a finger while his goons murdered people.

I'm sure that some of the genocide was done by his army. But it was official that he spilled royal blood on his hands, and who knows how many others.

Oh, yea, Lakitu and the Hammer Bro's were the 2 enamys I feared and tried to avoid when playing the original game, especially Lakitu, and wile I eventually lurned a few ways to kill him, I still hated all his levels as even when I did kill him he'd always respan later on in the level
...to this day I STILL try and avoid his levils by any means possible (at lest in the original game, he became kinda a joke SM64 [not counting the 1 that follows you around with a camera]) and never reely regained his evil factor
