I love the Ent reference, but then again I am a child of the woods. Try a simple free piece of editing software like "Photoscape" There is a clone facility on it so you can use other parts of the picture as clones to take out the tape. I use it a lot to take out man made features from my pictures of trees. The tape and cut log do somewhat destroy a beautiful shot
