Description Biggest painting I've ever done, another oil painting, inspired by Robin Sealark (you can find her on youtube and instagram). She does cool coloured waves and I wanted to try. I'm not used to working on canvas, so I'm now switching to wood for a smoother finish, we'll see how that goes.

It's not an attempt at realism, and the colours are fairly saturated, so i'm not sure how people find it photo like but thank you all the same haha

I would say it's because of the high amount of detail you placed in it.
And my pleasure ~

The illusion of this looking real is quite convincing, and amazing. But do waves really change color like that? It seems odd that the water would look green in a wave, but blue otherwise.

Well considering I used a photographic reference; yes, and there were many shots in the series that had various colours of green and brown and red. It's what waves look like when light goes through them. I've seen it myself, you just need the right beach conditions. Secondly, this sounds like interrogation of my ability to make it look like perfect realism, when it is not an attempt at realism, I thought it was fairly apparent that the colours are more saturated than the real thing and thus not at all like a photographic recreation (but then most people seem to have interpreted this as realism and photo like, so *Shrug*?).

No, I thought it was cool. I've just never seen that phenomenon myself.

A few people have said that so far, but I honestly didn't aim for realism, it's a bit stylised for that I would have thought haha but thank you
