Approximately three teenagers (13-19) self-harm every hour in the UK.In 2003-04, there were 24,087 cases of hospitalized self-harm in Australia.
Three million Americans engage in some form of self injury.
Self-harm is a serious problem.

hey, i was just wondering...i am doing a self-harm awareness poster...basically for kids who feel alone...to let them know they are not..im collecting photos from survivors and people who still do (myself included) could i use this picture? or could you suggest anyone that might be interested...i will credit you and send it to you when i am finished

I like this piece because for me it was and still is an addiction. I'm on the road to recovery now, and I haven't self-harmed in over 2 years, but the temptation and urge is ever present. For me the title makes the picture ever more important.

I used to be one of those 3 million Americans. Luckily, my Best friends found the item (coincidentally a skrewdrver) a chucked it FAR FAR Away (Into the football stadium.) I'm doing a lot better (for the most part)

@ Foxon- Therapists can't help if the people don't want help. Most people who do it are VERY ashamed of it and do try to hide i. Most aren't going to come out and scream to heavens "HEY WORLD! I HAVE A CUTTING PROBLEM I WANT TO HIDE FROM YO ALLLLLLLL!"
