Description Phoenixes are one of my favorite mythical creatures, and I decided to loosely base this one on a golden eagle. It's kind of a cheesy and overdone theme (rebirth, regrowth, etc.) but it certainly was fun to draw. Painter X over a period of several weeks.

there is a kernel of truth in all cliche find that kernel and explore it in it's own new way and you're good to go. I really like how you've worked this piece and coloured/textured etc... It's sweet

but really most stories/movies/etc have been told before.. but we can bring some new nuance to it.. or tell it/show it in a fresh way!
