I'm usually not a fan at all of any landscapes but this is amazing. Love the colors and the shape you gave it.

Lovely painting. Congratulations. I have always loved the bark on snowgums. I have one painting of snowgums in my gallery.

Best wishes,

David

amazing how you managed to shape the tree with the colours without making it look dull. I find using the correct colours to make shade very hard.

Thanks Paper and pencil!
I've looked at your gallery, and I can see that your drawing skills are excellent.
I find that shade is always a purple-y brown.. so maybe mix red and blue, then a bit of brown to dull it down. I don't use black... this tends to dull everything too much.

reminds me of some canadian sceneries
the paintings painted in a not so completely but very stylized way... lovely

If you go to my website, [link] and click on the "painting blog", there is a photo of the tree. You will notice that I have just exaggerated the natural shades: what was blue/grey I pushed to purple... a "dirty" shade of purple.
Thanks for your comment!

Thanks Weisen1. I'm looking forward to visiting Canada... it will probably be this Christmas, so there should be snow.
