If AutoCAD is capable of real-time rendering, I'd assume that having the wire frame visible in shaded view is a standard display option. At least, SolidWorks allows it so that you can more easily apply snaps to points of an object in the editing plane without having to rotate the view to see exactly where you're dragging your lines.

That image you see is a compilation of many images.
Also, (well for me), to avoid uncertainty I still rotate what I'm working on to make sure I actually DO snap the right point.

Nope, I just set the program to be gray so it's less strain on my eyes while I spend 7 hours working on it.
Oh you're not supposed to see the "hollowness". I was saying that I was working on it for such a long, unbreaking stretch of time that my computer failed, and it started rendering the backfaces of the model instead of the front.
The views you see above are the few angles where the model looks right.
