The Day the Angels Flew

It was a sunny morning just like anyother day
I got on the bus to go to school which seemed so far away
when I got to school I hung up my stuff and quickly went to class
for I didn't want to be tardy when the 5 minute bell passed

At 9:00 that morning something happened in New York City
a plane has smashed into a tower the principle told us grimley
at 9:10 another plane came from out of sight
it smashed into the 2nd tower which gave us a fright

The world stopped spinnin' and time stopped tickin'
as smoke covered the sky
people all around just stood and watched
at the flames reaching up so high

I was to young to understand
but there was one thing I knew
people were cryin' with me
the day the angels flew

With smoke and paper everywhere
people ran away
it was a terrible thing to behold
on that tragic day

Firetrucks and ambulances
came from all around
knowing that the towers
would come crashing to the ground

With axes and radios in their hands
they ran into the towers
hoping that they wouldn't fall
for a few more hours

Sadley their prayers weren't answered
as the towers buckled
they came crashing to the ground
in a heap of rubble
