Description Movement, color, detail. This will become the base of a photo-painting, something that Nana and I do together. I will print this on cotton, and she will layer pastels, spending often a month in the process. When hung in the gallery for sale, it will have a double mat, and a gilt frame. However, this particular image can stand on it's own as my particular kind of abstract sight of my favorite place, the painted desert.

You know, Donna, I have never done my own printing, preferring to leave it to a friend who had a shop. Since he moved away, I have been having my work printed by none other than Deviant Art. I wait for the sales, and then buy tons of prints that I frame over time. Deviant Art does a great job with cotton prints, and when purchased during a sale, cheaper than anywhere else.

i did my own printing when i first started taking photography

only as big as A4 but its hard to get the tones right, and the prints

always came out darker than it actually was, so i gave up, but it is

something i was thinking of doing again now i have more time on my

hands again.....but if it works out cheaper your way i may just do that....

The painted desert, a National Park, is in Arizona, adjacent to the petrified forest, about four hours east of the Grand Canyon. I can't remember the exact name of the park. Anyway, the colors and light are deeply moving, especially if you like deserts, which I do.

The painted desert ! Of course it is !

Oh, and you wrote it in the description.. I'm sorry, I didn't notice at first !

Wow I love this place so much, gorgeous landscapes everywhere you look... I didn't recognize the view you've posted but it caught my eye immediately, and I agree when you say it's a moving light and color, because Arizona is on my mind every day, and these places haunt me..
