Description His beak is full of the ripe sunflower seeds that this American goldfinch has just harvested from the flower head he stands upon. The flowers were planted for him, in this, my garden, in Kansas City.

I have tons of gold finches in my yard, I feed them. I have tried to take pictures too. But in all the pics I have taken, none have came out even close to being this good.

Many thanks for the kind compliment. This photo is the happy coincidence of an old fashioned censor (one that gets an electrical charge before the image hits it) and a very expensive lens up front, the product of a long life savings that I could not afford to spend, added to the idiocy of loving birds as if they were God's revelation of an ineffable joy. I'm really glad you liked it!
