tonight i got really... REALLY scared.
i put my window open a few cm to get some air in as i always do, put a bottle to block the gap, as i always do... took a quick shower and found the bottle knocked over. i live on the third floor, plus under my window there is a small downhill leading to garages. so 3 stories plus 2 meters is quite a fall. "did the cat fall down?" i asked myself.
"naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, he probably knocked the bottle over and then jumped down to the floor again.
"Evert!" i called out and started to turn my apartment in and out to look for him. as i did, the panic started to flood my head as i realized he was nowhere to find. opened the window fully and looked down and out, nothing.
a car was parked in the small downhill so i figured "IF he has fallen down, which he probably hasnt, under the car is where he probably should be". so i half run half jump down the stairs, got outside and looked under the car expecting the worst.

there he was.... starting to cry out the second he sees me.
i call the vet's 24 hour cell and tell them i have an emergency, the man im speaking to tells me he can be at the clinic in half an hour(!).
i go get my transportingcage and gets him out from under the car.
as he crawls out he seems to be ok, except a limpy walk and a bloody chin.
at the vet, he gets his legs, skull, chin and jaw examined and i get told that there is no fractures anywhere.
his walk is now fine, and so is his breathing.
he gets some antibiotics to prevent infection and then we were on our way home.

"normally in a fall like this, your cat should have several fractures and maybe even be unconscious"
