Thank you !! Well, that a nice cam (as I've seen some sample pictures on www.cnet.com/pictures/nikon-co… ) What do you mean "too" point and shoot? I know, since I have a bridge cam too, that most bridge cams have a short delay after the click, which makes it more difficult to take the exact moment of shooting. On the other hand... This is almost the only disadvantage. These cams have great possibilities from wide angle to macro, and all the settings you use on a dslr. And what a zoom ! Guess you're gonna catch some close-up magpies now

It's *too* point-and-shoot because is decides pretty much everything - focus, depth of field, aperture - I can control ISO and exposure and that's pretty much it.
If only it had a manual focus - I could forgive almost everything else - but my 13yo likes it - and it is her camera after all.

I've seen its specs now... It's really weird that iso and exposure are changeable where the camera decides what to focus on. On the other hand this makes it possible to get every shot a sharp one...
It does make beautiful pics though, and it's always a nice cam to learn composition

Indeed - and it did a pretty good job photographing the Solar Eclipse at 16MP!
