Description "H-hey, little guy. Heh--at least you're friendly."

Simon, from the amazing Horror game, SOMA!

SOMA is a mind-bending, really unique, sad, and about fifty other emotions combined, game. All I did was watch Markiplier play it, and just... WOW. This fan-art is overdue. (Not to mention the game itself is very detailed and pretty. The overall atmosphere is amazing, especially considering this is the same company who made Amnesia--and we all know how popular that was. O_O Not that Amnesia's graphics or anything were bad, but SOMA knocks the past game out of the water. Really, really, really far out of the water.)

There's actually sketches you can find throughout the game, that are concepts of the in-game robots and sea-life, etc. There's so many crazy details--the company/artists involved obviously put a lot of work and time into it! Not to mention, Simon and Catherine's voice-acting is superb.

Annnyway, compliments aside. I finished this a few days ago, after working on it on and off for about a week. I'm going to be honest, that's one of the best backgrounds I've ever drawn. I really think so. Originally, I was going to post it as this: sta.sh/024dcdrw3fpn Yeah, I know. Pretty bad. But since my internet was down for so long, I was forced to nitpick at it until it met my satisfaction. I also kept asking my dad for his honest opinion--and he is very honest with his opinions--so as far as shading the water, rocks fading into the background, etc, it was helped by my dad's eye. xD

I think there's some Catherine fan-art due, we'll see. Also, just saying... I ship it.

I agree. Soma is really dark cool!

I also get some Bioshock vibes from it, with the whole Underwater City full of deformed mutants and robots thing.

Yeah, it really is! I'd love to play it someday.

To be honest, I don't know a lot about Bioshock. But it seems like a lot of people have been comparing it to SOMA.

It also reminds me a bit of Dead Space.

There's also a lot of parallels to the movie, "Chappie" in it too!

Makes me want it even more!

Huh, yeah! And yet it still manages to be a unique game. I still can't get over how great the voice-acting was, too!

Actually, this wasn't a part in the game. o.O Though it seems like I do remember he said something similar to Bubblebutt, I think? xD BUBBLEBUTT.

I will, I promise. I PROMISSSE

Heh, you're welcome

Really? Cause I remember there was a part when he was underwater, and met this little robot that was swimming around and helped him get back into the building.Β

Yeah! That was Bubblebutt, as Markiplier has so graciously named him. I just put a fish instead, because somehow it seemed cuter. xD

Aaaah, ok xD to be honest, I haven't been watching the Markiplier play throughs of SOMA, I've been watching the Cryotic ones. Mainly cause I don't really like the decisions Markiplier makes in the game. He moves a bit too fast, and you lose a lot of information compared to other play throughs. still love him thoughΒ

Really?? Seriously, I only watch Markiplier. I used to watch VenturianTales, but they stopped being... Interesting after awhile. You can only hit things with a GMod crowbar so many times before it's no longer funny.

I had no idea that Markiplier missed so much. (Like what, exactly?) But I do remember thinking that although he did have some cool theories while playing it, he just kind of... Overlooked a lot of the fun details. Like paper sketches and stuff. Whilst I'm one of those--um--The Stanley Parable people. I will get EVERYTHING I can from a game.

There are some other lets players who are pretty good, like Cryotic, who I just mentioned. He's extremely chill when he plays video games, and doesn't really freak out or scream or anything, which I kinda like. But he's still pretty funny. He also narrates a few horror stories and creepy pastas on his channelΒ

And Yeah, Markiplier does overlook some of the details that foreshadow a lot of things. Remember that robot in the second play through that he killed by opening the gate thing? You were supposed to have a conversation with him which would reveal quite a bit of info.Β

That's the most prominent thing I remember he missed, cause I stopped watching his play throughs after the second or third one.

Huh, cool! I'll have to give him a look! (I've had people suggesting me a lot of YouTuber gamers lately. xD I still await the day when there's a kick-butt girl gamer YouTuber who actually... Well... To be honest most gamer girls I've seen on YouTube still act a lot like they're vlogging. I don't really dig the girl vlogger world. :/ I want the women equivalent of Markiplier. xD)

Oh! Seems like I do remember that... One thing that's been bothering me, is the Dunbat. It wakes up screaming about Catherine, but then it was never mentioned again? That seems really weird. (So I'm guessing that Markiplier missed something?)

He is by far my favorite YouTuber/gamer, but he tends to... Not see obvious things. Like, I'LL see the monster, but he won't. Or, while I like to look around each room I come to very slowly, to observe everything, he just breezes through and misses fun stuff.

Please do, he's awesome xD And yeeees we totally need more girl gamers in the community!

I'm not sure, cause I haven't gotten to that part yet xD But I'll look out for it.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. At least compared to other gamers.Β

Yes! Seriously. xD Even when the girl gamer is brilliant at video games--knows all the Minecraft cheats, etc--for some reason their attitude is always really... Almost annoying? Like, a vlogger? Their voices are always kind of higher and they get freaked out easily, but it's in the stereotypical girly way? Or maybe I'm just way more into watching boys play games. x'D

Yes, please! Sorry for the spoilers. o_o I NEED you to finish it.

True. The first big video games I ever played--next to Mario on the Gameboy--were The Legend Of Zelda games. So from the very start of my childhood I was playing games where I had to look out for details. Had to. And, you know, I'm an artist. I also have to observe all that Skyrim scenery. xD So I guess it bothers me when Mark' plays games like The Stanley Parable, and completely overlooks details.Β

Lol, yeah. I'm way more fond of guy gamers, but it WOULD be cool for a really awesome girl gamer to rise up from the depths.

I WILL

I never played video games as a kid xD I just didn't grow up with them. But now that I do, I'm also one of those observent people who tries to take in every little detail. Which Mark should try doing more often. But who I am I tell the king of FNAF what to do, right??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Clockwork-Jack In reply to Sunstreak2000 [2015-12-09 05:13:48 +0000 UTC]

YES. And what's really sad is that I think I could be that girl gamer, and I even made plans/a gaming account a loooooong time ago. But sadly, I've always been way to embarrassed to just sit there and record by myself. And now my internet is too crappy to upload videos that long. xD

DO IIIIIT.

Well, he's brilliant at FNAF. 83 But not so much with observing small details... All the time? Like, he noticed when that random flower-vase popped up in FNAF 4, and he definitely takes in all the details for his game theories. But somehow he does it just enough... Without doing it enough. x'D
