Description "After bringing back some relics from the desert a young scientist and his friends defend the city from a re-animated snake-like creature that turns people to stone at a glance..."

- summary from IMDB

The basilisk is one of my favorite monsters considering its design. The Basilisk in legend has varying descriptions, from a roaster with reptilian qualities to a massive serpent with a crowned head, either with or without six limbs. Its obvious with what I've just said that the creature designers for the movie combined all aspects of the legends. Six insect-like limbs, a bird-like head with bony crowns and a massive serpent body. Together, the final design is awesome and unique as all hell.

The basilisk is practically invincible. In the movie, its explained it scales are made of a special silicon as tough as diamonds. This same silicon is also what allows the creature to turn victims to stone. By spraying venom from its mouth onto a target, which is a main component in the petrification process, it then uses its eyes which reflect a special spectrum of light. It actives the venom and cause the silicon to spread like a virus, turning everything from blood cells to hair and bone into stone. It seems to use the venom in special circumstances, much like how a cobra only strikes when necessary. Other than that, its all teeth, scales and raw force.

The creature's greatest power is also its greatest weakness. A staff made from gold and sculpted to look like the basilisk was crafted to combat the monster. In the maw of the scepter lays a diamond more beautiful then anything in both the human and animal world. This diamond turns the creature's power against it, using the same light spectrum as its eyes, which reflects back the petrifying gaze. However this can only be done during a solar eclipse (this can be replicated from the coolants in a reactor). Since the monster's body is made from the same silicon as its venom, the same principal applies to it. However if the staff activates near the basilisk in its line of sight, it can resurrect the basilisk if its body is undamaged.

Abilities, Attributes and Powers:
- razor sharp teeth
- six useless bug-like limbs don't seem to have any use
- diamond hard scales protect it from any and all weaponry; rifles, grenades, bazookas, nothing can penetrate it. It also uses its scales as a weapon, literally gridding and sawing flesh like sandpaper.
- the end of its tail is heavy and covered in spikes. It uses it like a club to smash structures and obstacles, while crushing bodies into paste
- its venom and gaze is its greatest weapon while also its greatest weakness
- its eyesight is, ironically, not the greatest. Movement is a key factor in hunting. Move out of sight and staying as still as possible, like a mannequin, will increase your chances of survival.
- the creature, like many reptiles, can reproduce on its own. When the monster was petrified in the movie, a character x-rayed it and discovered it had 30 eggs waiting to be layed.

Fright Factor: 10/10; near invincible with a horrible weapon at its disposal makes the basilisk a massive threat. It doesn't help it can reproduce on its own...

Deeds:
- killed dozens of civilians and soldiers alike
- survived being petrified for 2,000 years

Yup. So far four entries have been made. Hammerhead Shark Frenzy, Pterodactyl, Ice Spiders, and this one.

One more is fine. I already have a set list, so I'm fine with one more suggestion
