Capturing the past is a hard thing to do. You have done it quite nicely. Need I say more about the past. Where now today people kill people crass.

Ah, but this photo can also represent carefreeness. No shirt, no laces, simply sitting outside on a couch reading the newspaper. a free spirit. "i'll do what i want, and you can't stop me" attitude. Also the DD feature comment up there "...with nothing of value." That's harsh. He still has some clothes. His life.

I don't know why, but this doesn't scream '2nd great depression' for me. I think it's the brighter colors in the otherwise world of neutrals and grays. It's playful, maybe down, but definitely not out. Speaks more of hidden potential - like the guy is just waiting to get up and GO PLACES. The suitcase on one end helps to give me that perception, I think, as does the stationary bike (like, the guy in this picture has been practicing going places by exercising on the stationary bike, but has yet to actually go out into the world and exercise his new found skills).
I dunno. This feels more like a guy comfortable with what he's got, comfortable with his own skin, and comfortable while waiting for the world to notice what he has to offer. He's just waiting for something a little more exciting to happen, perhaps.
