Who knows what true loneliness is - not the conventional word but the naked terror? To the lonely themselves it wears a mask. The most miserable outcast hugs some memory or some illusion.

man this totally captivated me.
beautiful piece, thanks for sharing.
I love the black and white for sure, but contrary to earlier comments, I'd also really really love to see the colour version of this piece.

Awesome pic, Taz.
One comment - I like the black due to the subject matter, but perhaps some of the detail is lost due to the dark tone? Just a thought... other than that, excellent!

Yeah I agree with Rohan - I was expecting a lost child or someone looking dazed and confused etc - and was instantly surprised by a bare landscape.

I guess it could be said that the correlation between title and the peice are great - the title does not mearly sum up the art, but give you an alternate view and really make you relfect upon its content.

Well captured and good use of foregroud and background.

i half expected to see one lone subject standing on a large stretch of beach
and was shocked to see that no one is alone in this...but then realised that there doesnt have to be a subject:
maybe the beach itself is lonely, the log, the sky, the sand, the water...but then...the photographer...
i love the textures and depth that B&W creates, so much better than colour in my eyes.
i love the clarity, focus, detail...all in all its excellent
job well done.

best comment by far

i think maybe it's a combination of all those things and feelings equalling a 'lone' status title.
And yes i agree b&w creates more depth, it's like seeing the world for what it's worth without all the unecessary distractions. Not to say that colour isn't any good because at times colour just fits.
Thanks so much for the comment

hey no worries for the comment...it was more than well deserved.
yes i agree sometimes colour just works, but not alot of the time
i just love the way loads of greys and black and whites can create so much feeling for something.
for example the log in this piece, it seems to carry a character of its own, even if it is in-animate

God that beach is lovely; i love that place, as with this pic. Although i wouldn't mind seeing it in colour ...or did u take it in black and white?
