You were stretched out on the couch, your feet in Karkat's lap. At first he had bitched about the casual contact with your "squishy pink leg nubs", but quickly shut his trap when you told him he could pick the movie.
But seriously though. Mean Girls? The fuck, Karkat.
You had been expecting an action flick or horror film or something. But no. Turned out his thing was romcoms. Jesus...
"If you're from Africa, then why are you white?"
You snorted at the familiar line. It got you every time. Not like you repeatedly watched Mean Girls over and over, but still...
"Hey. Pissface. Pass the food," Karkat demanded.
"Pssshh no way get it yourself you lazy prick."
He grumbled and stretched across to reach the bowl of popcorn in your lap. You swatted his hand away.
"What the hell?" He shrieked. "You told me to get it myself!"
"Changed my mind. You're not allowed unless I get to feed it to you."
You smirked. No way he was gonna let you feed him.
He groaned and complained, then started shifting around.
"Yo, what are you-"
"Shut up and scoot over," he ordered.
And then suddenly you were halfway spooning with him on the couch.
"Now, are you gonna feed me that popcorn or not?"

You reached into the bowl, then brought a few kernels to his mouth. He opened and you popped them in. He chewed steadily then opened his mouth again for more.
You repeated this for a while, marveling at the fact he was letting you FEED HIM.
After a while he got back into the movie and forgot about the popcorn. You could not do the same.
You felt your phone buzz and snuck it out of your pocket to check if it was Dave.
But alas, it was not. Yet another hate text from school.
You had been receiving them for almost two months now, ever since you had "forsaken your race" and started hanging out with trolls.
Bored out of your mind from the damn movie, you decided to read it and count the grammatical errors.
"HOW DOS IT FEEL KNOING THAT YOUR GOING TO HELL YOU FUKIN TROLL LOVIGN SLUT"
You snorted and blocked the number from texting you again. Then took a screenshot of the message and saved it under the folder "intelligent criticism".
During these two months, you had come to several conclusions.
Your species kinda fucking sucked.
Dave was a better friend than you knew.
Trolls made extremely interesting companions.
People could be really petty.
And you wanted to smash your lips into Karkat's.

Despite all the yelling, insulting, and cursing, Karkat was actually a really sweet guy. He was always going out of his way to brighten up your day or make you laugh in his own little ways.
First and foremost he became your best friend.
And then you became, as he would say, "flushed for him".
And it was really fucking frustrating.
You knew that Karkat and Terezi had dated in the past and it had not worked out. Yet she still kept up a continuous stream of flirtation with Karkat.
Which kinda made you wanna punch her in the face.
Which kinda sucked cause Terezi was actually pretty chill.

You were getting yourself all worked up again, and could feel your face heating slightly.
Still bored, you decided to just snuggle down and sleep through the movie. You doubted Karkat would mind. He always complained about how freakishly warm humans were but you knew he actually liked it, and enjoyed snuggling with you when he thought you weren't paying attention.
