Description EDIT: Avon's weaknesses and personality have been expanded.

Name: Avon Silvestris

Manipulator: A teardrop-shaped crystal that has seven facets; each facet lets a different color of light shine through, and each color makes different materials: red=blood, fire yellow=sunlight, cheese, etc. It can also dip the point of the crystal into a liquid to create something.

Note: It can only use the light function of the crystal when there is at least some light; more light will make it more powerful, less will make it less, etc. It can always dip it into something to draw, however.

Genre they're from: A philosophy paper

Age: Four years

Gender: Genderless, but doesn’t mind being called “he” or “she”

Species: “tide of knowledge”, a.k.a a being made of living water that contains all the knowledge of humankind…but knowledge that it can’t access for itself.

Abilities: Being composed almost entirely of a fluid, it can reshape itself at will, though it tends to stick to one main form. Its markings stay the same whatever form it’s in, though it can’t shrink or grow larger than its original amount of matter.

It can also hold a certain amount of foreign material within itself, in “pockets” in its body, small dry spaces in which it keeps objects.

Avon possesses the ability to freeze parts of itself or turn them into water vapor for a limited time if it has enough energy. It can also "break" its own skin and let water out of itself voluntarily, though if it does that it's easier for it be penetrated.

Within its semitransparent “body” it holds everything humankind has ever discovered…but Avon itself knows almost nothing, as the information contained in it can only be accessed by others if they take some of its water and drink it with the question in their mind that they want to be answered. (Water can be regained through Avon absorbing knowledge, or just absorbing other water.)

A warning: if one drinks too much, they may be overwhelmed by all the memories that flood their brain.

Strengths:-it can’t feel pain
-good endurance
-doesn’t need to breathe
-can slowly reform, though if evaporated this takes about two hours

Weaknesses: -fire; if it’s too hot, Avon will evaporate

-electricity; even a little will cause Avon’s form to waver, if it’s too strong Avon will evaporate

-wind; even a little will start to separate Avon’s ‘body’, too much will leave it as so much puddles.

-if too much of any foreign matter penetrates Avon, it will dissolve. (about 10 pounds or so, and it already carries its crystal, pencil, and notepad around in it so that makes about 2 pounds it already carries) Even just getting something caught in itself will slow it down, though it won't be painful for it.

-if it’s penetrated on its gray markings, it will dissolve instantly.

Bear in mind: Avon is not aware of any of these weaknesses, so it won't guard against them.

Personality: As a mute, Avon is a good listener. It has the mind of a human child of its age, intensely curious about everything. It is unaware that it is a current of knowledge in a sentient form. It is often ignorant of what it does, and how it will affect others.

It is often playful, but can be thoughtlessly cruel or careless without intending to be. It also does not respect personal space – it will often go up to people and poke them without introducing itself.

Its dearest desire is to know things, and emotions are strange to it, though it is curious about them as well. It likes picking up things and examining them...even if they belong to others. Its vocabulary is limited, and it doesn't know many words, especially long ones.

History: It was created four years ago as a phrase in a paper on philosophy, and was later given a voice in the back of its creator’s mind, then a name that meant river, though it was originally called a tide.

Because of how she had originally phrased it, its creator imagined it to be the water of knowledge, but cruelly decided to add a twist: that it could not use it for itself, and gave it the mind of a child. She then spun it into the shape of a being on paper and released it into Medium, giving it a manipulator to form the rest of its own story.

Likes: Learning things, listening, friendly people

Dislikes: People who won’t talk to it, boring things, dark and scary places

Other: Though Avon is mute, it uses a pencil and notepad it keeps in its pockets to communicate. Though made of water, it possesses a sort of thin skin over its body, so if you merely touch it you won’t get wet, but if you stuck something in it while it wasn’t expecting it (say, a sword) the sword would be water-covered.

Avon needs no food, but rather absorbs the knowledge of those around it for energy. If it doesn’t learn at least one new thing a day, it grows weak.

It can be killed, but only if all knowledge in the world disappeared or was forgotten.
