shut up my titles are so interestingI'm trying to go to sleeeeep but every time I do I end up remembering that stupid woman at the DMV and it bothers me, blah
So I finished this.
First (or second? o: ) in a series of flower prints to be made for my family. I'm a little sad I got my favorite color out of the way first.
Drawn with a bunch of iris references off google.
The texture in the background is stock from *dierat , if you ever need interesting paper textures go see her~

ps if you steal this, you're effectively stealing from an old lady. How badass would you be then? >:I

In all seriousness, the texture on this is fantastic. A lot of the time, when people add veins to their flowers, the lines just seem to sit on top of their petals. In this you actually added highlights to the veins to make them convincing. The slightly jagged edges looked a little too jagged on that zoomed-up stream, but zoomed out it looks great! I would have gone with a different base color for the stem, maybe a less saturated one? The first part I noticed was the stem, so maybe even just a different BG color that would've made the iris bloom the highest contrast part.

I know it's not that kind of Iris, but my 90s brain is programmed that way.
This is MUCH BETTER THAN I COULD DO. ♥ Soft and feathery and simple, but detailed and all smooth so any family member will go WOW DID YOU DRAW THAT /thesegenesareinmyblood <333
