Poppy or her editing team used this without permission in one of her music videos (I think that version is since deleted?) I totally would've allowed it if asked, but I never was asked lol...
edit: some poppy fans got together and raised a bit of money for me to say sorry on her behalf ^^ so sweet of them to do, it means a lot.

Pretty sure the video is back up with this icon still in it. It doesnt surprise me they did nothing to fix this, I'm sorry you're art had to be the one they picked. YouTube as well as poppy's creator are known for this type of abuse and undermining of others.

I mean, it isn't the responsibility of the fans (of Poppy or fans of my work) to do what the video making crew should've done to begin with...but. If you really want to organize something like this I'd feel so honored ><
It's so hard for me to even think of a price though, I'd feel bad naming anything for something that's more of a charity/respect thing you know?
If you end up organizing something like this, I think I would make a thank-you video just documenting my take on the whole event and of course mention anyone who would even bother to contribute anything towards it, plus mention other people who have posted or made their own videos on the topic.

Honestly,,, I'd consider getting a no-win-no-fee lawer or something against poppy,,, youtube is refusing to handle a legal dmca,,, you could sue youtube themselves for it

I am going to do a little research on a lawyer just to ask them realistically: what chance do I have of actually winning any sort of case, how much would it cost me to pursue this, worst case scenarios, etc....
I read through Deviant Art's terms of service, and my "rights" over something I upload are not given up just because I upload it. Some youtube commenter told me that I was SOL because once I upload I give up all rights, but that actually isn't true apparently! So yes, I'll do what I can.

Clover, I say you should also file a lawsuit as well since Poppy is selling your icon on merchandise. This is not right for her, her producers, or director to do. They are all at fault here for stealing your work.

She actually isn't using my icon on merchandise. They drew an eye bat/winged eye on their own, which is not a new concept. If they were selling my exact pixel drawing on merch there'd be an issue : P

They did use it in the video though. I even took my photo editing tool to overlay hers on top of yours. They’re exactly the same. So there is theft there. And they do monetize YouTube videos, so she’s getting profit off of the video your art is featured in.

i also wanna add that poppy has been selling a backpack that clearly rips off your design. ( shop.maddecent.com/products/po… )
i really recommend reaching out to mars (she's marsargo on pretty much any website) and trying to get some justice for this. she isn't super active and might not respond but it's worth a shot.
