Description Here's another little sneak peek at 's mega-sequence that will be on his Transrepo site.

Bums!

As a little side note, I've been really studying Wil Eisner's "The Spirit". It's not a mystery why he's considered a master cartoonist.

The other preview from this sequence?
Why, you can see it here: [link]

It's very good. Very much has the Eisner feel to it. My only gritch would be that the guys camo coat doesn't quite look like camo... unless those are stains... in which case... ewwwwww!

Hey Matt, thanks for the critique. It is supposed to be camo, although, now that you mention it, it could be stains, too.

I'll keep your comment in mind for any future depictions of camo.

After doing a brief survey of the era of camo that you were probably going for (since the digital camo is very different and WEIRDLY effective) I think the problem is that the splotches are too regular and don't interact with each other enough. Think 52 pickup using leaves from a bunch of different trees.

Well on the upside I think I have a better idea how it works now myself. Thanks!

What would've been nice had it been Randolph and Mortimer Duke from the movie "Trading Places"...

I haven't seen that one. I'm assuming they're bums.

Yes... at the end of "Coming to America", Prince Hakeem (Eddie Murphy) gives two bums a thick stack of bills, and they turn out to be Randolph and Mortimer, who immediately begin to make plans to return to their former glory.

It was a real surprise to see their cameo!

You are very welcome Zac, Eisner was never able to make his women pop out off the page like you are able to.

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun drawing these two guys. I think everyone should draw some bums once in a while.

Thanks, JD. I really appreciate it. I often struggle between my love for realism and my more cartoonist side. Still, I love when I get to use the cartooning side of me, as I did with this picture.

Thanks! I've been striving for more realism in my art of late, so it was a lot of fun to use my more cartoonist side on this one.
