Purple hair would be pretty cool, actually. I'll keep that in mind.

You scrapped this?

Yep. I never used it in the Opey story. Before settling on the final version of Opey I have here in my DA gallery, I made a number of false starts. I'd draw up the entire first or second pages, reject them, and start all over again. This ritual I repeated a number of times. I have a number of Opey pages I never used.

If memory serves me right, they were chasing a Japanese schoolgirl who had in possession a certain living nuclear bomb.

The Japanese schoolgirl was a runaway who just so happened to have Opey in her possession. She was trying to keep Opey out of the hands of government types. I felt the concept was so cliche, I abandoned the concept.

Now you've mentioned Opey The Warhead... What's happening with him? I love him to death, I swear.

I've got plans for the little guy. I've got Issue 5 mapped out but I just haven't got the time yet to work on it. This year has been hectic and I've had to spend my spare time working on things to bring in money. But Opey is not forgotten. I'll be returning to work on the comic soon.

The chick at the front is answering bearded dude. A form of bearded dude may show up in the official final version of "Opey the Warhead" but he won't be bearded.
As for the shading technique, I learned it from an underground artist named Frank Stack. He's an amazing artist.

Very interesting shading. I like the design of the body armor.

Thanks, Larry! I have a lot of Opey extras. It's insane, sometimes, how many versions you have to go through for a comic before you can nail it down.

I guess with my process I just don't have that many, and those that I do have, I'd rather not show for them being so bad.
