Description
Sickening or enlightening is this,
this case breathing the dark of the abyss.
Though ‘tis better than regret,
that which leads to shame,
that which becomes the silhouette,
the darker it is, the more it shall claim.
It may claim one’s light, mind, body, or soul,
shame that boils one’s heart out of control.
But guilt, which feeds on the progress of life,
should not be allowed to dwell, nor stain the past,
but can be used to repel self-animosities and strife.
Fate is not which decides the effect that will last.
In this, the spirit must survive the test,
the test of time, a lifetime, at best.
Survive the rigor, Commandment Eleven,
No man or woman shall find an exemption,
As though to hide from the light of heaven,
no need to fear here, the Twelfth is redemption.
Find a way, preach it, and redeem it for better,
that which was caused by a cloth, scarlet letter.
