Awwww! I always like trying new things, especially when it comes to materials, techniques and paper! I love hoarding pencils even though I have so many tubs, pencil cases and packs of different brands. So yeah, my knowledge of Copic markers comes from highschool and that was many many years ago but recently within the past few years my friend (who originally introduced me to Deviantart) showed me her work with Copics, she said they were so easy to use and I can guarantee you that markers aren't for everyone but I loved how easy they are to blend so I had to go and buy a few for myself to test.
Actually, reading your ID part on your page and how you said you don't use Crayola's anymore.... Yes, I agree but I have old Crayola pencils from 10+ years ago and they are much better quality than the ones you can buy now that's for sure... Actually, I put this to the test...using normal printing paper, my old crayola pencils and a biro pen and then the test with newer 2015 made crayola pencils... oh boy the difference was there alright! :m Not much to do with the paper quality, but as I said before "The paper is mightier than the pen" is true and I will always stick to that on many ways than one. Nothing wrong with printer paper, but you can pretty much achieve anything on ANY paper that's what I meant C:
Tools of he trade for me these days is pretty much anything and everything, I mainly use Copics, Prisma and Faber Castell depending on what paper I am working on...it just comes down to preference and what you feel most comfortable with I guess
Digital mixed media is always fun cause you can muck around with visuals and get the feel for what you want, it's very hard to recreate stuff like water, grass or something simple with pencils (I am trying to mix all my traditional bits together to recreate some thing like underwater but like the frog suit Luigi I did a while back, shit like that you can't really do with just pencils...maybe watercolour pencils but even that is a challenge for me atm) XD
Remeber this one? :3 that's what I meant...what an ass to do though lol.
Every artist is different and has a different way of seeing what they want to achieve in their work, but one thing we all have in common is the "feel" you place in to the piece, that's whats most important!
I love talking to you! if only distance wasn't the issue I'd march my ass over and we could draw all of the things! :>
