I like how you drew it. Just for knowledge's sake the testicles/balls are not a sexual thing but a sign of good luck or fortune. I found that info at [link] So in a sense its pretty much had its luck run out.

You know in order to make them more kid-friendly in more modern times a lot of books and stuff in Japan changed the ballz thing (as you so eloquently put it) instead to a fat stomach. Just an interesting fact that I wasn't sure if you knew or not. It's there for future reference if you want it ^__^
But yeah, I love how furry the tanuki is. Such puff around his neck makes him look like he'd be such fun to hug.
