Last night I tried my hand at a little digital art. I drew the Australian dinosaur Muttaburrasaurus by hand on paper, and then drew over and coloured it in the Mac app Sketchbook. It's clear that I have a LOT of work to do when it comes to shading, texturing, etc but overall I'm pretty happy with the results!

Like much of this reconstruction, the keratinous crest is entirely speculative (but something I love adding to my iguanodonts, probably inspired by Luis Rey's palaeoart). The body of Muttaburrasaurus is here shaped more like a rhabdodont than like Iguanodon (as seems to more common in older drawings of this dinosaur) or Tenontosaurus (as seems to be more common in newer drawings of this animal). I believe cladistic analyses have Muttaburrasaurus grouping either within or very near Rhabdodontidae, so I figured their peculiar 'little fatty' bauplan would be the way to go on this animal. Although seeing how Muttaburrasaurus was at least 7 m long and maybe as much as 10 m, it's not at all little...
